Irina Quebles Surfas, Psy.D, ABPP, Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California, is a bicultural and bilingual licensed psychologist specializing in early childhood mental health and developmental disabilities.
She is based at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Her current projects and interests include understanding the relationships between race/ethnicity, behavioral co-morbidities, and medication; early screening and linking families to services; training Latinx parents on understanding the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities; evaluating the effectiveness of interdisciplinary assessment of ASD in underserved populations; and working with children with ASD and other co-morbid diagnoses (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety, depression, and conduct problems).
Dr. Quebles Surfas provides training and technical assistance in Los Angeles County and Guam with a focus on universal developmental screenings, early identification of ASD, and linkage to services. She is endorsed by California Center for Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health (CA-CIFECMH) as an Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health Reflective Practice Facilitator Mentor.
