Freda graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Public Health Nursing and Health Specialist Credential from Fresno State University. She completed NCAST certification, MI certification, Video Interaction Therapy, Circle of Security Trainer, Infant Massage, and Reflective Practice training while working with families in an early intervention program. She returned to college to complete a teaching credential with a Masters in Early Childhood Special Education. Freda has served on a number of boards and committees in the fields of early childhood, infant-family mental health, Child Care Council, reflective practice, Trauma and Resilience Network of Care, Inclusion, HeadStart, NECTAC Taskforce, and Autism. She currently is the director of an intensive behavioral program with a relational focus for children birth to seven years and an Early Start Program in the Central Valley. She has taught early childhood special education at Fresno Pacific University and provided training locally and statewide on a number of topics including, Reflective Practice, relationship – based service delivery, trauma Informed programing, autism, early childhood leadership training, Neuro-Relational Framework in Early Start, and reflective supervision in early childhood. Freda’s passion is supporting professionals in the early childhood field and has been providing reflective practice for over 24 years. Freda is endorsed as an Advanced Transdisiciplinary IFECMH Practitioner and Reflective Practice Mentor. She is proud that over half the staff of the programs she supervises are IFECMH endorsed. Freda has been married to her husband Jim for 44 years and has two children and two adorable granddaughters.
