Valerie Bellas, Ph.D. is a supervising psychologist with UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, Oakland, Services to Enhance Early Development (SEED), a collaboration of mental health, child welfare, public health, and parent advocacy, serving infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families involved with child welfare. She has been engaged in mental health services for young children who have experienced trauma for over 15 years. She received her training at Clark University, Child Witness to Violence Project, and Tulane University Infant Team. She is rostered in Child-Parent Psychotherapy and is completing Reflective Facilitators-in-Training (Harris) toward California endorsement. She has a background in multi-method quantitative and qualitative research. She deeply values her role as a white ally in the advancement of social justice. She has a special interest in the development of social justice approaches in the infant mental health field and the integration of multiple frameworks within dyadic conceptualization.
