LA County Child Welfare Administrator

Danielle Rivera is a Children’s Service Administrator and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at The Department for Children and Family Services (DCFS), Los Angeles County with 13 years of supporting children of all ages and their families with the goal of keeping children safe. Specializing in children aged birth to five, Danielle uses that experience to support healthy relationships between parents and their children. In addition, Danielle has an enthusiastic passion to support and to mentor current and future social workers.

By focusing on supporting families at their most vulnerable moments, Danielle has been able to put her Master’s in Social Work degree she earned at the University of California, Los Angeles to good use. Over the years, Danielle’s strengths at DCFS have garnered some recognition for early child development work through supporting training needs, participating in community forums, utilizing reflective practice in supervision groups and developing a policy for children aged birth to five. Danielle may spend her days at DCFS, but it’s the connection she feels to her community’s welfare that gets her up in the morning. She continues to grow and develop and is alumni of the UCLA+DMH Early Childhood Fellowship, the Napa Parent-Infant Mental Health Fellowship and is a current fellow with the Zero to Three Fellowship.

When she’s not at DCFS, Danielle is an avid traveler and loves spending time learning about new cultures, connecting with people, and spending time with her family and dog.
